Harry Potter App for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad Now Available on App Store

Screenlife announced its new Scene It? Harry Potter App for iPhone and iPod touch and HD version for iPad are available on the App Store, just in time for Warner Bros. Pictures’ release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

EA’s FIFA Soccer 11 Now Live in the App Store

EA Mobile announced the availability of EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 11 in the App Store. The popular soccer franchise features over 30 officially licensed leagues, 35 authentic stadiums, 500 licensed teams and more than 15,000 players from around the world for thunderous matches on the iPhone and iPod touch.

FileMaker Announces Significant Updates to FileMaker Go for iPhone and FileMaker Go for iPad

FileMaker announced version 1.1 of FileMaker Go for iPhone and FileMaker Go for iPad, the popular new apps that let users work with FileMaker Pro databases on iPhone or iPad.

These significant updates, are available free from the iTunes App Store, and include enhancements for creating PDFs, sharing databases via email, and inserting photos in databases.

Users can now produce PDFs directly from FileMaker Go and either save them on their mobile devices or email them. This feature lets mobile users easily save and distribute reports, create invoices, and share project status directly from their iPad or iPhone.

Another enhancement is the ability to save a copy of a complete database and email it directly from FileMaker Go. With this feature, iPhone and iPad users can exchange databases from their devices without needing to dock with a desktop or laptop.

The update also delivers new ways to work more efficiently with photos and other media and information. FileMaker Go users can capture photos on an iPhone, or take photos that are already in the photo library of an iPhone or iPad, and insert them directly into a FileMaker Go database. Photos stored in a database can be emailed out later using FileMaker Go.

Other file types, such as spreadsheets, can be emailed directly from FileMaker Go. Read more

Available now on the App Store, FileMaker Go delivers live access to hosted FileMaker Pro databases, and lets users copy desktop databases to iPhone or iPad

FileMaker announced FileMaker Go for iPhone and FileMaker Go for iPad, the highly anticipated new Apps now available from the iTunes App Store which let users work remotely with FileMaker Pro databases on iPhone or iPad. With FileMaker Go – available as two separate apps for iPhone or iPad – users can easily view, edit and search for information in FileMaker databases on their iPhone or iPad.

Ideal for mobile teams, FileMaker Go provides access to databases created with FileMaker Pro and hosted on FileMaker Server or FileMaker Pro. FileMaker Go can access databases residing on a Mac or PC using a local wireless network or over the Internet via Wi-Fi or 3G. All changes are instantly updated in the hosted file.

FileMaker Go users can also copy databases between their desktop or laptop computers and FileMaker Go via File Sharing in iTunes, perfect for single user databases. Databases may also be downloaded by email, popular file sharing sites, or the web.

Viruses Designed for iPhones Can Also Infect iPads, Finds PandaLabs

iPad proves susceptible to the iPhone/Eeki.A worm that infected jailbroken iPhones last year, other malware targeting the iPhone

PandaLabs, Panda Security’s antimalware laboratory, has revealed that malware designed to infect iPhones can also compromise the popular iPad, as demonstrated in a video on the PandaLabs blog at http://www.pandalabs.com.

“This doesn’t mean we’re about to face an avalanche of infections. We have always stated that as Apple increases its market share, cyber-crooks will begin to show more interest in targeting the platform,” said Luis Corrons, technical director of PandaLabs. “However, we are certainly beginning to see more proofs of concept, and so advise all Mac users to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations to maximize security on their operating systems.”

Despite the fact that Apple has made it impossible to install peripherals and software outside of those found in its own App Store, cyber-criminals have found a way to infect jailbroken iPad devices with malware. Read more
